COHESA (2021-2025; coord ILRI, funded by UE) Capacitating One Health in Eastern and Southern Africa (COHESA). COHESA works in the 11 countries of Eastern and Southern Africa to advance the One Health concept embedded across society working for healthy humans, animals and environments.I contribute in Mozambiquein the implementation of the national OH platform.
SWM (2018-2023; coord FAO, funded by EU). The Sustainable Wildlife Management Programme is a major international initiative that aims to improve wildlife conservation and food security. Field projects are being implemented in 13 African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. I am the Cirad's focal expert for wild meat consumption (role of wild meat in the local food systems, drivers and dynamic of this consumption, levers for changes). I am actively involved in the activities conducted in Zimbabwe and Zambia, in the Kavango Zambezi (KAZA) Transfrontier Conservation Area. (more information)
INRA; ANR) The objective of AMAGRI is to address the problem of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the agri-food sector. One one hand, it aims to understand how the dominant model of intensive animal husbandry, supported by a heavy usage of antimicrobials, has been established, and on the other hand, to encourage the current dynamics towards reduction of this sociotechnical and socio-economic dependence. AMAGRI contributes to the transition towards an "agro-ecological" production model, and a better control of the health and environmental risks posed by the use of antimicrobials. (more information)
MozArh (coord. Cirad; funded by MUSE). The main objective of the project Mozambican Areanvirus at the Rodent Human interface is to assess the circulation of arenaviruses and understand its drivers, in order to inform on the risk of spill-over to humans. This includes the identification of the social, cultural, economic and political drivers that shape the human/rodent interface.
ProSuli (2018-2021, coord. Cirad; EuropAid), Promoting Sustainable LIvelihoods for sustainable Transfrontier conservation areas. The project aims at promoting and strengthening the sustainable management of TransFrontier Conservation Areas (TFAcs) in Southern Africa (Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe) through a multi-stakeholder participatory process.
